Job Overview

CorVel Enterprise Comp, Inc. is seeking a Claims Management Apprentice to join our dynamic team. This role involves assisting in the management of straightforward workers' compensation claims, ensuring adherence to company protocols while working under the guidance of experienced claims professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and process claims, verifying policy coverage and acknowledgment.
  • Assess the legitimacy and compensability of claims.
  • Establish reserves and authorize payments within defined limits.
  • Handle uncomplicated medical-only claims and minor lost-time workers' compensation claims with close supervision.
  • Maintain communication regarding claim status with clients and claimants.
  • Follow client and carrier guidelines and participate in claims reviews as necessary.
  • Support senior claims professionals with more complex claims as needed.
  • Ensure regular attendance and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Engage in additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Quick learner with a desire to understand claims processes.
  • Proficient in problem identification and resolution.
  • Technical proficiency with MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Preferred experience of at least one year in the industry or claims management.
