Electronics Engineering Manager Job Description

At IDEX Corporation, we're looking for a talented Electronics Engineering Manager to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you'll be responsible for leading the development of cutting-edge electronics solutions for our medium and heavy truck products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the development of hardware and software solutions for new and existing products.
  • Utilize project planning tools and collaborate with local and remote teams to create solutions that meet industry standards.
  • Establish and review technical solutions by leading technical teams in problem resolution and product development.
  • Allocate engineering resources to meet obligations and oversee the entire product development lifecycle.
  • Provide technical direction, growth, and expertise to the electronics controls engineering team.
  • Monitor and control product compliance and ensure designs meet relevant safety and certification requirements.
  • Develop a proficient resource base to maximize engineering effectiveness.
  • Define, evaluate, and select engineering tools across all disciplines.
  • Ensure effective coordination with other management and develop external links between the company and other sites, universities, and research houses.
  • Create a team-working environment for employees to achieve job satisfaction.
  • Manage performance and ongoing development of direct reports.
Requirements:
  • Broad knowledge of electronic, electrical, and related mechanical engineering best practice, manufacturing, quality assurance, and finance.
  • Leadership: demonstrated ability to lead and motivate engineers to get results.
  • Planning: ability to think ahead and plan over a 1-2 year time span.
  • Management: ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
  • Technical skills in engineering management, quality assurance, and costing.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop high-performance teams.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
  • Proven team leadership background in electrical engineering and electronic product engineering.
  • Experience with multi-disciplined design teams linked to contract manufacturers.
