Office Environment:
Our Columbus office is a recent addition to the VS Engineering family, established to spearhead our expansion into Ohio. The office boasts a dynamic and engaging team that fosters a high-energy atmosphere. In this position, you will manage your own transportation team, providing mentorship and direction to junior engineers and interns. You will report directly to the Ohio Transportation Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage project responsibilities, including monitoring project scope, budgeting, staffing, and production of assigned transportation projects.
- Develop and nurture client relationships, lead project teams, and assist in expanding VS Engineering's transportation project portfolio.
- Collaborate with clients to secure project funding through relevant funding agencies while adhering to their guidelines and policies.
- Prepare and contribute to various project documents, including proposals, change orders, and client communications.
- Create transportation designs that comply with the latest design standards.
- Conduct research and prepare preliminary reports and feasibility studies.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited program.
- Registered Professional Engineer in Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in designing transportation infrastructure projects.
- At least 3 years of experience in project management and leading project teams.
- Experience with public sector design projects, including ODOT/INDOT and municipal design initiatives.
- Preferred technical skills include proficiency in:
- ArcGIS, GIS, ArcMAP
- MicroStation / Bentley Open Roads Designer (required)
- Drainage software such as StormCAD and CDSS (preferred)
- AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Microsoft Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook (required)
- Adobe (preferred)
