Job Overview

Position Summary:
The Beverage Service Specialist is responsible for efficiently taking orders, providing comprehensive beverage and food service, and ensuring an exceptional experience for guests in the lounge and bar area. This role requires polite and courteous interaction with guests, colleagues, and supervisors to uphold the highest standards of hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Adhere to professional appearance standards as outlined in the Tao Group Hospitality Employee Handbook.
  • Proactively anticipate and fulfill guest needs.
  • Deliver outstanding and professional service.
  • Present menus, respond to inquiries, and make recommendations for all food and beverage offerings.
  • Inform guests about food and beverage specials, including pricing.
  • Inquire about any allergies or dietary restrictions from each guest.
  • Accurately input all orders into the Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Ensure timely delivery of food and beverages to guests.
  • Maintain cleanliness of assigned workstations and the overall venue.
  • Follow directives from supervisors, communicate effectively with team members, and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of all food and beverage menus, as well as the company’s offerings.
  • Serve alcoholic beverages in compliance with state regulations and alcohol awareness training standards.
  • Adhere to company protocols when providing bottle service.
  • Follow proper cash and payment card handling procedures.
  • Comply with health department regulations and company sanitation standards.
  • Complete all end-of-shift financial procedures accurately.
  • Communicate guest needs to Front-of-House and Heart-of-House staff, including managers and chefs.
  • Prepare the cocktail lounge/bar and side stations, performing opening and closing tasks as directed by management, which includes:
  • Ensuring all lounge furniture is clean and free of debris.
  • Setting tables with appropriate settings.
  • Stocking side stations with necessary supplies.
  • Completing opening and closing side-work as required.
  • Report any breakage or damage to equipment or furniture to management immediately.
  • Participate in daily pre-service meetings.
  • Engage in training sessions and departmental meetings as needed.
  • Learn through observation, listening, and sharing knowledge while leading by example.
  • Exhibit a positive and professional demeanor.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with Tao Group Hospitality, its partners, and associated hotel environments.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team, providing support to all colleagues.

Training Requirements:

  • Completion of Tao Group Hospitality in-venue cocktail server training, Alcohol Awareness Certification, and Food Handling Certificate.

Minimum Education and Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Experience as a cocktail server or floor server.
  • Background in a high-volume restaurant, nightclub, or lounge setting.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Ability to stand, lift, and bend for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Role may involve repetitive motion tasks.
  • Exposure to hot kitchen elements and cleaning materials.
  • Ability to maintain focus in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including various shifts such as days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
