About the Opportunity

As a Field Hockey Program Manager at the University of Richmond, you will be responsible for assisting with all phases of the Division I Field Hockey program. This includes coaching and student-athlete skill development, recruiting, administrative tasks, and providing a positive collegiate experience.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with the head coach to develop a sports program that challenges student-athletes to succeed individually and as a team.
  • Provide student-athletes with appropriate coaching by imparting knowledge of the game and strategies for success.
  • Design and implement skill instruction drills for individual and team practices.
  • Assist with the oversight of training and team-building activities.
  • Be prepared to lead the program in case of absence by the head coach.
Recruiting and Team Operations
  • Help coordinate and execute an effective recruiting plan to recruit student-athletes that can be successful within the team system developed by the head coach.
  • Manage various administrative tasks associated with team operations such as travel planning and coordination and equipment management.
Academic Success
  • Demonstrate a commitment to assisting student-athletes achieve academic success.
  • Assist the head coach in creating a positive educational environment.
  • Encourage student-athletes to participate in the personal growth opportunities offered by the institution and the department.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • A thorough knowledge of applicable NCAA rules and regulations is required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in coaching Field Hockey is required.
  • Ability to lead and motivate student-athletes is required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. The University of Richmond offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
