Position Overview:
The Radiation Therapist is responsible for delivering radiation therapy, conducting radiographic examinations, performing CT simulations, and ensuring compliance with treatment documentation standards.

This role necessitates a comprehensive understanding and active engagement in achieving the Mission of CHRISTUS Health, while embodying the Core Values of the organization.

The Christus Spohn Cancer Center (CSCC) provides an extensive array of advanced treatment modalities.

Our Medical Oncology team comprises two physicians and three advanced practitioners overseeing both inpatient and outpatient services across multiple sites within the Christus Spohn System.

Typically, each Medical Oncologist manages a patient load of approximately 25 patients daily in the clinic, while the infusion/chemotherapy department serves around 45 patients per day at the primary location and nearly 20 patients at the secondary site.

Radiation Oncology operates from two facilities that offer external beam radiation, Tomotherapy, and CyberKnife services. The laboratory is equipped to deliver a comprehensive suite of hematology and metabolic services.

Additionally, we provide a Palliative Care consultation program, which actively manages a daily census of 15 to 20 patients.

The CHRISTUS Spohn Cancer Center is accredited by the Commission on Cancer, distinguishing it as the only regional cancer center to achieve this recognition.

With three clinics situated throughout the Coastal Bend, the CHRISTUS Spohn Cancer Center and its associated clinics are dedicated to patient care, with a team of oncologists and clinicians who are genuinely passionate about their patients' well-being.

Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited Radiation Therapy Program (ARRT) is required.
Ability to comprehend and execute complex medical prescriptions while maintaining composure under pressure is essential.
Experience with CyberKnife technology is preferred.
Possession of a Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist License (MRT) is mandatory.
Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy (ARRT-T) is required.
Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) through The American Heart Association is necessary.
