Position Overview:
The Radiation Therapy Specialist is responsible for administering radiation treatment, conducting radiographic procedures, and performing CT simulations while ensuring adherence to proper documentation standards. This role necessitates a comprehensive understanding and active engagement in fulfilling the mission of Christus Health, while embodying the organization's core values.
The Christus Spohn Cancer Center (CSCC) provides an extensive array of advanced treatment modalities. Our Medical Oncology team comprises experienced physicians and advanced practitioners overseeing both inpatient and outpatient services across various locations within the Christus Spohn System. Each Medical Oncologist typically manages a patient roster of 25 individuals daily in the clinic, while the infusion and chemotherapy department caters to approximately 45 patients each day at the primary site and nearly 20 at an additional location. The Radiation Oncology division operates from two facilities, offering external beam radiation, Tomotherapy, and CyberKnife services. Our laboratory is equipped to deliver a comprehensive suite of hematology and metabolic services. Additionally, we have a Palliative Care consultation program with an active daily patient census of 15 to 20.
The CHRISTUS Spohn Cancer Center holds accreditation from the Commission on Cancer, distinguishing it as the sole regional cancer center to achieve this recognition. With three clinics strategically located throughout the Coastal Bend, the CHRISTUS Spohn Cancer Center and its associated clinics are dedicated to providing exceptional patient care.

Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Radiation Therapy Program (ARRT)
- Ability to comprehend and execute complex medical prescriptions while performing under pressure.
- Experience with CyberKnife is preferred.
- Possession of a Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist License (MRT)
- Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy (ARRT-T)
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) from The American Heart Association
