About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Electrical Engineer to lead our programs in AI hardware development. As a key member of our hardware team, you will be responsible for championing the specification, development, validation, and deployment of state-of-the-art AI hardware at the core of Nuro's self-driving stack.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect high-performance on-board computing, networking, and vehicle interface systems in collaboration with sensor and vehicle hardware teams.
  • Guide our design and manufacturing partners to ensure high-quality designs and regular mid-course adjustment updates.
  • Drive technology evaluation (CPU, GPU, ML accelerators, other ASICs) to provide directional guidance on future development paths.
  • Mentor and support our talented junior engineers and interns.
Requirements
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in high-performance compute architecture, electrical design, and deployment.
  • Proven experience with PCB design skills (schematic/layout), bring-up, and debug, proficient with popular EDA tools.
  • Expertise in high-speed and high-complexity electrical engineering design.
  • Proficiency with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, power supplies, network analyzers, and other debugging tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • System architecture experience.
  • Experience with Nvidia Drive platforms (PX2, Orin, Thor).
  • Proficiency in Altium design tools and Ansys simulation suite.
  • Experience with offshore JDM development.
