Job Overview

As a Quality Control Technician at Golding, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in our production processes. Your expertise will help maintain compliance with industry regulations and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct both routine and specialized laboratory tests to ensure product quality.
  • Organize and maintain laboratory supplies and documentation efficiently.
  • Implement and oversee quality control measures throughout the facility, ensuring adherence to all operational protocols, including SOPs and GMPs.
  • Perform pre-operational checks and authorize production line readiness.
  • Engage in environmental monitoring to uphold safety standards.
  • Assess and approve raw materials for production use.
  • Execute ATP swabbing procedures on equipment to verify cleanliness.
  • Evaluate sanitation practices and their effectiveness.
  • Manage non-conforming materials by placing them on HOLD.
  • Accurately record all data in the designated systems and maintain manual logs.
  • Carry out daily calibrations and equipment verifications.
  • Provide clear communication and guidance to team members.
  • Ensure a clean, sanitary, and safe working environment.
  • Adhere to all food safety and quality system requirements, including regulatory and customer standards.
Reporting Structure:

This position reports directly to the Manager of Quality Assurance.

Additional Duties:
  • Contribute to the daily execution of food safety and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Conduct quality and safety testing, identify discrepancies, and collaborate on corrective measures.
  • Perform regular inspections and observations to ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices.
Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or GED is required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a science-related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience in laboratory technician roles, quality control, or food production is advantageous.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with various departments to foster a strong food safety culture.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and performing basic mathematical calculations.
  • HACCP & PCQI certification is preferred, or the willingness to obtain certification.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is essential.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be capable of standing, walking, kneeling, reaching, pulling, climbing, and bending as needed.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working in wet or humid conditions, with occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, including gloves, hair nets, beard nets, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
  • Exposure to nut allergens may occur.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as necessary.
