About the Asset Management Unit

The Asset Management Unit (AMU) is a critical component of the Recreation and Park Department (RPD), responsible for managing, cataloging, documenting, and reporting on the department's assets, including properties, buildings, outdoor facilities, park amenities, vehicles, and equipment.

Job Description

The Asset Manager is a key role within the AMU, responsible for the department-wide systems management of the infrastructure and physical assets that support the department's nearly 4200 acres of parkland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the department's asset management database and facility management software.
  • Oversee personnel engaged in the submission and management of electronic work orders and updating of the asset management database and facility management software.
  • Coordinate and analyze work activities and physical asset use that impact and sustain the life-cycle of the department's physical and infrastructure assets.
  • Work with the City's 311 Customer Request Program to address citizen requests related to the department's infrastructure and fleet assets.
  • Develop and implement metrics and best practices to guide the strategic planning and evidence-based decision processes.
Requirements
  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Five (5) years of professional experience performing activities related to infrastructure and/or fleet asset management for a government agency.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Progressively responsible administrative analyst/program analyst experience in the public sector.
  • Experience with 311 Customer Request Program or similar public sector customer service system.
  • Significant experience in a fleet management program in a public sector setting.
