Position Overview

Salary: $25 - $26/hour

Liberty Software is on the lookout for a dedicated IT professional with extensive experience and a passion for customer service to join our esteemed "Tech Team" as a Technical Support Specialist. We take pride in providing exceptional software solutions to independent pharmacies across the nation, and this role is vital in ensuring our clients receive outstanding support.

We are in search of an individual proficient in configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining servers, local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and virtual private networks (VPNs). Additionally, the candidate should possess skills in the installation and upkeep of workstations, printers, and other related equipment. Experience in monitoring network security to comply with URAC, HIPAA, and PCI standards is also essential. This position requires working in-person at our office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to inquiries from external clients through various communication channels, identifying potential solutions and guiding them through the resolution process.
  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of personal workstations, servers, Ethernet networks, network cabling, and other related systems.
  • Manage local area networks in accordance with TCP/IP networking protocols.
  • Design and implement network security measures in compliance with URAC, HIPAA, and PCI requirements, including firewall construction, application cryptography, host security management, file permissions, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with networks, systems, and applications to restore functionality.
  • Proactively identify potential communication and networking challenges and implement preventive strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of two years of experience in an IT support capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of computer networking principles and proven expertise in TCP/IP.
  • Proficient in WANs and possess expert-level knowledge of LANs.
  • Experience in desktop support or a similar role, with a solid background in workstation management and hardware and operating system installations and upgrades preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both in-person and over the phone, with familiarity in using Microsoft Windows and related applications.
