Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to join our team at our state-of-the-art plasma donation facility in East Harlem, NY. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for performing venipuncture, monitoring donors during the donation process, and ensuring the proper operation of plasmapheresis equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform venipuncture and programming of plasmapheresis machines
- Monitor donors during the donation process and manage donor reactions
- Perform all duties required for the setup, verification, operation, and trouble-shooting of plasmapheresis equipment
- Install, prime, and disconnect disposable sets on the plasmapheresis machines
- Stock supplies, break down empty cartons, and assist with proper disposal
- May perform all required duties in the area of Medical History, including taking and recording donor pulse, blood pressure, and temperature measures, and monitoring electronic donor questionnaire system
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in a laboratory, hospital, or other regulated environment is a plus
- Ability to read and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and to maintain complete and accurate records
