We are seeking a highly qualified Clinical Assistant Professor of Special Education to join our team at the University of Alabama. This is a nine-month, non-tenure-earning position with a start date of January 1, 2025.
Job Summary:The Clinical Assistant Professor of Special Education will be responsible for teaching core coursework at the master's and educational specialist (Ed.S) level in the Department of Special Education. The successful candidate will also fulfill service roles in the program, department, and college, and provide academic advisement for master's level, educational specialist, and doctoral graduate students.
Responsibilities:- Teach core coursework at the master's and educational specialist (Ed.S) level in the Department of Special Education.
- Fulfill service roles in the program, department, and college.
- Provide academic advisement for master's level, educational specialist, and doctoral graduate students.
- Earned doctorate degree in Special Education or related discipline by December 2024.
- Certification (or certification eligible) in special education in Alabama.
- Effective teaching experience at the college level.
- Demonstrated evidence of willingness and/or experience supporting underserved and underrepresented populations.
- Demonstrated evidence of willingness and/or experience fulfilling accreditation and program assessment requirements.
- Demonstrated evidence of willingness and/or experience teaching online.
- Demonstrated evidence of willingness and/or experience advising graduate students.
To be considered for the position, applicants must submit a 1-2 page cover letter, CV, 3-4 references, and an unofficial transcript. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. The priority deadline is October 1, 2024.
