Job Overview

Astec Industries is seeking a skilled Assembly Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for safely assembling, fitting, and joining components in the production process of heavy and large mechanical products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble component parts, machined parts, and subassemblies according to specifications and production schedules.
  • Use various hand tools, pneumatic tools, hydraulic tools, and precision measuring instruments to complete tasks.
  • Operate overhead cranes and forklifts to move parts and materials in and out of work areas.
  • Perform minor adjustments, repairs, or setups to equipment or machines under supervision.
  • Ensure all work is performed in a safe manner consistent with plant safety standards.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand job-related blueprints and drawings.
  • Ability to read tape measure and complete a tape measure assessment.
  • Willingness to train and work during hours outside of regularly scheduled core shift.
  • Heavy equipment manufacturing experience desired.
  • Knowledge of mechanical concepts, practices, and procedures required.
