About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Employee Relations Specialist to join our dynamic HR team at EF Education First. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the employee lifecycle, providing guidance and coaching to staff and managers, and ensuring compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Employee Relations Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for HR-related matters, providing guidance and support to staff and managers on sensitive concerns, including performance and conflict resolution.
  • Leave Administration: Administer leave of absence programs, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, including FMLA, ADAAA, SDI, and CFRA.
  • Investigations and Disciplinary Actions: Lead investigations into employee complaints and conduct disciplinary actions as needed, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies.
  • Policy Communication and Enforcement: Communicate and enforce company policies, ensuring that all staff and managers understand their responsibilities and obligations.
  • Employee Onboarding and Offboarding: Support the centralized exit process, including conducting exit interviews and ensuring final pay compliance, and provide support to employees and internal teams as needed.
  • Process Improvement: Evaluate, improve, and implement systems and processes to ensure timely execution and company compliance.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 7 years of prior HR experience, with at least 5 years focused on employee relations and coaching managers.
  • Credentials: Strong ability to build credibility among management and peers, with a comprehensive understanding of US employment law, including employee classification, pay, wage, and hour compliance.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and strategic communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a passion for interacting and supporting staff members through consultation and guidance.
