Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Health Specialist - Entry Level to join our team at Dvsv3. As an Environmental Health Specialist - Entry Level, you will perform environmental health duties at the entry level as a trainee, working closely with our experienced team members to gain hands-on experience and knowledge in various areas of environmental health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform environmental health duties at the entry level as a trainee, including food sanitation, on-site soils evaluation, private well inspection, rabies abatement, communicable disease investigation, and migrant labor camp inspection.
  • Participate in formal and on-the-job training in one or more areas of environmental health, including food sanitation, on-site soils evaluation, and private well inspection.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge and skills in environmental health, including the ability to communicate effectively with the public and other stakeholders.
  • Work effectively as a team member, providing services in a professional and courteous manner, and presenting educational programs to adults.
  • Meet workload demands and manage time effectively to complete tasks and projects.
Requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other stakeholders.
  • Proficient in basic computer software programs.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in assigned program area.
  • Ability to influence behavior of foodservice employees/management and provide services in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Valid State Driver's License to operate a state vehicle or personal vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the agency.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in environmental health, such as experience gained as an Environmental Health Associate.
