ProSidian Consulting seeks a highly skilled Certified Industrial Hygienist to join our team as an Environmental Health Assessment Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will provide expert services and support in the Chemicals Industry Sector, focusing on Environmental Services Solutions for clients such as the U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board (CSB).
Responsibilities and Duties- Conduct chemical hazard assessments at incident sites, working with the CSB investigation team to evaluate potential released chemicals and determine appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and monitoring requirements.
- Develop and implement safe site entry plans in coordination with the CSB investigation team.
- Perform initial site assessments, monitor atmospheric conditions, and advise the CSB team on hazards, PPE, and safe site access.
- Provide continuous monitoring of atmospheric conditions during site entry activities.
- Prepare detailed closing reports summarizing monitoring activities and safety recommendations.
- Must be a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) with a minimum of five years of CIH experience.
- Completion of at least 24-hour HAZWOPER training or superior equivalent.
- Ability to arrive at incident sites within 48 hours of notification.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, or a related field.
- Minimum five years of relevant experience in industrial hygiene.
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification is mandatory.
- Proficiency in conducting chemical hazard assessments and developing site-specific safety plans.
- Strong understanding of industrial chemicals.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with investigation teams.
- Ability to operate and interpret results from monitoring equipment.
- Strong report-writing skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products.
- Understanding and proficiency with business tools and technology, including Microsoft Office.
- Commitment to work with smart, interesting people with diverse backgrounds.
- Willingness to constantly learn and grow.
