Child Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Child Development Specialist to join our team as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist. As a key member of our Early Intervention Program, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive services to infants and toddlers aged 0-3 years in their natural environment, typically home or daycare.
About Us
Light On Path Inc., Infant Development Program is a full-scope Early Intervention Program that provides child development and therapy services to families in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valley areas. We prioritize building strong relationships with our clients and their families, offering a supportive and professional work environment.
Job Responsibilities:- Conduct treatments in the field of Early Intervention, focusing on the child's developmental growth and empowering families through effective, child-centered, and family-focused services.
- Select and adapt the appropriate occupational therapy treatment model, method, and approach to direct interventions and maximize safety and performance in activities of daily living.
- Teach children, parents, and caregivers adaptive and purposeful ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable components.
- Assess clients using various tools and advise on alterations consistent with their needs and capabilities (OTR only).
- Recommend adaptive equipment and train in its use, guiding and educating family members and caregivers.
- A proven working experience as an occupational therapist/occupational therapy assistant, although we welcome new grads as well.
- Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of occupational therapy, including current knowledge of treatment practices per discipline.
- Ability to manage clients with different personalities, needs, behavioral, and emotional dynamics, as well as different family dynamics.
- Professional behavior, strict adherence to company code of ethics, and professional conduct, practice guidelines, as underlined in the employee handbook.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, valid license to practice occupational therapy, and a valid California Driver's License.
- $53.00 - $65.00 per hour for OTR, with additional wages for driving time, mileage reimbursement, and cell phone use.

- Schedule flexibility, with options for 8-hour shifts, day shifts, overtime, and weekend availability.
Note: This job allows for flexibility with scheduling, enabling you to arrange your work schedule around your life rather than the other way around.
