About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Communications & Media Coordinator to join our team at Augusta University. As a key member of our communications and marketing team, you will play a critical role in advancing the university's brand and supporting institutional priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and develop compelling stories about university initiatives, accomplishments, and achievements that warrant internal or external promotion.
  • Conceptualize and produce high-quality print and multimedia content for digital platforms, including writing, video, photos, and graphics.
  • Serve as a liaison for institutional priority areas, proactively communicating news of interest to the broader community, and preparing AU experts for interviews.
  • Work with local, regional, and national media to obtain news coverage for the university, craft media pitches and news releases, and coordinate news coverage for events.
  • Maintain current digital and media relations knowledge, using project management systems to document and track projects from beginning to end.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Communication, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Five years of professional communications experience, with prior experience in media, education, or healthcare.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to think strategically about how AU's mission and expertise might align with, influence, or support world affairs.
  • Experience with media monitoring software, coordinating/conducting media training, and training experts for on-camera, radio, and print interviews.
What We Offer

Augusta University offers a competitive salary range of $48,800 - $57,200, commensurate with qualifications. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, and retirement plans. Additionally, our employees enjoy earned vacation time, sick leave, and 13 paid holidays.
