Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Airport Operations Specialist to join our team at Republic Airways. As an Airport Operations Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and compliant training of our company and business partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Training and Development: Provide efficient and compliant training to all company and business partners utilizing company and mainline partner training curriculum platforms.
  • Training Oversight: Assist in training oversight and support to ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines, mainline partner requirements, and company requirements.
Essential Duties
  • Foster a Positive Work Environment: Foster the company's core values and culture throughout the work environment.
  • Scheduling and Assignment: Facilitate scheduling and assignment of duties in conjunction with department leadership.
  • Colleague Support: Support screening, hiring, training, and development of Airport Operations colleagues.
  • Instruction and Training: Provide instruction and ensures training is carried out within Federal Aviation Administration guidelines, mainline partner requirements, and company requirements.
  • Aircraft Familiarization: Organize, schedule, and instruct aircraft familiarization and Auxiliary Power Unit training courses.
  • Curriculum Evaluation: Assist in evaluating mainline partner training curriculum and reports inconsistencies and recommendations for alignment to department leadership.
  • Communication: Maintain professionalism and communicates clearly with both internal and external business partners.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of the department.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience in airport operations, airline experience, or related area.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Language Skills: May be required to be fluent in written and spoken Spanish, depending on work location.
Preferred Education and/or Experience
  • Specialty Training: Specialty training beyond high school in aviation or related field and previous experience in aviation and/or training.
  • Aircraft Familiarization Experience: 2 years of experience in aircraft familiarization training.
  • Microsoft Office Suites: Microsoft Office Suites.
Language Skills
  • Reading and Analysis: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Writing and Communication: Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Presentations: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Reasoning and Problem-Solving Ability
  • Problem-Solving: Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Decision Making: Able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands
  • Physical Activity: Able to move about the work environment in a timely manner.

Work Environment
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in different airport environments, long shifts, day, night, weekend, holiday as needed.
  • Work Location: Work may be in a busy airport terminal.
  • Work Conditions: Work will be outside on airport ramp areas that are loud and busy working environments.
Travel Requirements
  • Travel Frequency: Able to travel up to 50% of the time, including overnight stays.
