Position Overview
The Senior Structural Engineer will collaborate with project teams to develop exceptional designs for various initiatives, including enhancements and redevelopments across multiple sectors such as energy, healthcare, aviation, education, and governmental facilities. This role involves working closely with the project team throughout the design and construction phases, adjusting structural plans based on financial limitations, design considerations, or client specifications.
  • Execute structural design tasks from initial concept through to project completion.
  • Revise and assess production drawings for a diverse range of projects, including but not limited to: energy facilities, healthcare centers, educational institutions, and airport infrastructure.
  • Create structural components tailored to the requirements outlined by project managers.
  • Utilize a comprehensive understanding of prevalent structural engineering principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the industry.
  • Gather and analyze project-related data as requested by project managers.
  • Update drawings provided by senior engineers to ensure accuracy using various CAD software.
  • Prepare information for client presentations, review shop drawings, and manage contracts related to the design of energy, healthcare, aviation, and educational facilities.
  • Conduct field inspections, measurements, or calculations for both public and private sector clients.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited institution, along with 3 years of relevant structural engineering experience, or
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program, with successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and 3 years of structural engineering experience.
  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering with 2 years of structural engineering experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of standard engineering methodologies and practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Capability to work systematically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment, demonstrating critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with structural analysis software (e.g., RISA 3D), AutoCAD, ETABS, SAFE, and Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools (e.g., Revit and Tekla).
  • Exceptional attention to detail, along with strong facilitation, teamwork, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Engineers in Training (EIT) Certification is preferred.
