Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at Winnebago Comprehensive Healthcare System. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular patrols of the hospital premises to identify and prevent potential security threats.
  • Monitor CCTV cameras and respond to alarms in a timely and effective manner.
  • Provide assistance to patients and staff in emergency situations, such as fires, accidents, or medical emergencies.
  • Control access to the hospital premises by verifying identification badges and escorting visitors as needed.
  • Respond to disturbances and incidents involving patients or visitors, and take necessary action to resolve the situation.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as nursing and administration, to ensure a safe and secure environment for all.
  • Attend training sessions and meetings to stay up-to-date on security protocols and procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred.
  • One year of documented security experience preferred.
  • Documented self-defense or similar training required.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for up to eight hours per shift.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in all emergency situations.
  • Knowledge of standardized rules, procedures, and methods to perform a full range of security work independently.
  • Ability to restrain uncooperative and belligerent individuals without causing physical harm.
  • Skill in report writing, patrol procedures, and communication techniques.
Working Conditions

The Security Officer will work in a fast-paced environment with moderate risk and discomfort. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with minimal to no supervision. The Security Officer will be required to work days, nights, and weekends, including holidays.

Language Requirements

The Security Officer must possess the ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently. The ability to continually and effectively employ professional verbal and written communications skills is essential.
