Job Overview and Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Procurement and Services Officer II, the Maintenance Operations Supervisor oversees the management and direction of the Garage operations.
This role involves planning and organizing work schedules, ordering or purchasing necessary components and supplies to ensure tasks are completed efficiently. The supervisor is tasked with maintaining an inventory of essential supplies and parts for the upkeep of workshop tools and machinery. Responsibilities include keeping accurate records and generating reports; training and instructing personnel in the safe handling and maintenance of equipment.
The supervisor is also responsible for evaluating incoming machinery to assess repair needs, estimating repair costs, and monitoring the progress of ongoing work. They will inspect and test completed tasks, ensuring the proper care and maintenance of workshop tools and machinery. Regular inspections of assigned equipment will be conducted to ensure compliance with agency preventive maintenance standards. The supervisor will coordinate and collaborate with equipment repair technicians and inmate work crews in the repair of various vehicles and mechanical equipment, including automobiles, trucks, forklifts, heavy machinery, stationary generators, and compressors. Performance evaluations and documentation of work-related activities will be prepared as necessary. Attendance reporting for both staff and inmates under supervision is also required. Participation in hiring interviews may be expected. Attendance at training sessions and staff meetings is mandatory. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
