Job Overview

As a key member of the Regulatory Affairs and Compliance team, the Regulatory Affairs Analyst plays a vital role in ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and organizational policies. Reporting to the Regulatory Affairs Counsel, you will engage in the assessment and alignment of our policies and procedures (P&Ps) with applicable federal and state regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct audits of processes that affect healthcare providers and ensure compliance with NCQA accreditation standards.
  • Assist in managing regulatory inquiries, filings, and reporting, handling tasks that range from routine to complex, necessitating strong analytical and decision-making skills.

You will develop a comprehensive understanding of the operations of the San Francisco Health Plan, including state managed care laws, Medi-Cal program requirements, and the evolving landscape of healthcare compliance and reform initiatives.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintain an organized inventory of policies and procedures within the P&P database.
  • Translate complex policy issues and regulatory mandates into clear and actionable P&Ps.
  • Ensure regular reviews and updates of all P&Ps, serving as the primary contact for document management.
  • Collaborate with various departments to create and revise policies, ensuring alignment across the organization.
  • Communicate changes in requirements and P&P updates to relevant management and staff, ensuring that training and processes reflect these changes.
  • Provide training to staff on the development and maintenance of Policies, Procedures, and Desktop Procedures.
  • Conduct internal audits and coordinate audits by regulatory agencies as required.
  • Act as a liaison with state agencies to facilitate compliance.
  • Draft and manage state regulatory submissions.
  • Analyze and coordinate the implementation of new regulations and legislative changes.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in the analysis and interpretation of healthcare laws and regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of state program regulations and HIPAA compliance.
  • Healthcare Compliance Certification and experience in healthcare data management are preferred.
