Assembly Worker Job Description

Wise Staffing is seeking a skilled Assembly Worker to join our team. As an Assembly Worker, you will be responsible for setting up and operating conventional, special-purpose, and computer numerical control (CNC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic parts. You will also fit and assemble machined parts into complete units, applying your knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, machinability of materials, and layout techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate CNC machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic parts.
  • Fabricate and assemble machined parts into complete units.
  • Apply knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, machinability of materials, and layout techniques.
  • Read blueprints, sketches, and follow verbal instructions.
  • Assist in ordering, receiving, and storing material and supplies.
  • Maintain dimensional logs for all work and jobs that go across your machines.
Requirements:
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • One year of technical school or five years of machining experience.
  • Completion of four-year apprentice program in a Machining.
  • Able to read, write basic math (fractions, decimals, and trigonometry).
  • Proficiency using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.
  • Able to operate overhead and jib cranes.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Able to solve complex technical problems with limited direction.
