Job Summary

As a Registration Specialist PRN at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our patient access department. Your primary responsibility will be to obtain and process accurate financial and demographic information from patients and their families, ensuring prompt payment and minimizing denials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interviews and Verifies Patient Information: Conduct thorough interviews with patients and/or family members to obtain accurate financial and demographic information, verifying insurance coverage and determining patient liability.
  • Processes Patient Accounts: Scans all required documents, obtains necessary signatures, and completes forms required by governmental or commercial payers.
  • Provides Excellent Customer Service: Greets and assists patients, interacts with visitors, physician's office staff, physicians, and other employees, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to department policies and procedures.
  • Supports Department Operations: Cross-trains to other registration areas, relocates to other locations as needed, and takes responsibility for maintaining knowledge level after training.
  • Maintains Confidentiality and Adheres to Policies: Consistently adheres to all department policies and procedures, including uniform requirements, and maintains patient confidentiality.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • Specialized Knowledge: Proven track record of excellent customer service skills, ability to navigate computer systems (Microsoft Office, registration systems, EPIC), good typing skills/data entry skills, good interpersonal skills, and excellent communication skills.
