Job Title: Field Engineer

Kawasaki Rail Car, Inc.

Job Description

As a Field Engineer, you will be responsible for performing complex troubleshooting and repair techniques on manufacturing equipment's electrical/electronic or mechanical systems. Your expertise will be utilized to analyze, troubleshoot, build up, maintain, and repair complex rail car equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze failures to reduce rail car downtime and perform root cause analysis
  • Identify engineering solutions for rail car uptime
  • Support all aspects of testing, including Engineering Tests and Conditional Acceptance Testing
  • Assist in the training of Technicians in accordance with newly issued procedures
  • Receive and distribute Technical information to site technical work force
  • Act as liaison between KRC Project Engineering and Site Technical group, including customer
  • Monitor technical validity of complaints from customers and work reports from technicians and vendors
  • Explain and resolve all technical queries to customers at work sites
  • Monitor the proper maintenance and use of tools and equipment at the work sites
Requirements:
  • At minimum, 3-5 years' experience in electrical engineering for rail car, rolling stock or closely related industries
  • 7 years' experience with analytical/trouble shooting of electronic systems preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required
  • Excellent communication, schedule control, cost management skills, and personal management skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Proficient bilingual (English/Japanese) verbal and written skills at a business level a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders and lift, push or pull a minimum of 40 lbs
