Senior Business Development Manager

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Development Manager to join our team. This role will be responsible for leading a team of sales professionals in a multi-state geography, focusing on growing and retaining a profitable book of business in the workers' compensation insurance industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- New Business Production: Establish and achieve new business production goals for the sales team, creating annual revenue planning and budget targets that align with national strategies.
- Sales Leadership: Direct and lead the sales team in support of unique distribution strategies, overseeing territory productivity and staffing levels while making recommendations as needed.
- Team Development: Develop, mentor, and define performance expectations for team members, providing real-time feedback and establishing operational and behavioral goals.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with underwriting leaders to develop and maintain strong agency relationships, ensuring shared accountability in meeting territory goals, and keep leadership informed of all issues and meaningful activities.
- Business Planning: Contribute to tactical and strategic business planning with underwriting and distribution partners, identifying opportunities for revenue growth and profitability.
- Customer Service: Provide professional, timely, and courteous communication and service to internal and external customers, resolving issues and addressing customer needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business and/or marketing; or equivalent professional experience.
- 10+ years of business experience in financial services or insurance industry (preferably workers' compensation) with a minimum of 5 years in sales leadership.
- Proven success in targeting, developing, and launching business-to-business agreements and partnerships.
- Strong negotiation skills, ability to create win-win agreements, and understanding of costs and proposals to ensure profitable outcomes.
- Easily approachable, self-motivated, and self-confident, with the ability to work independently and build deep and trusting relationships at all levels of a client organization.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary for this position is estimated to be between $100,000 and $160,000 per year, plus a comprehensive benefits package and bonus opportunity. We offer a positive, challenging work environment and an opportunity to build your career as you help us grow our business.
