Overview

At Sherman Associates, we're committed to delivering exceptional experiences for our guests. As a Host - Umbra, you'll play a vital role in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our guests, ensuring their stay with us is nothing short of memorable.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and seat guests, presenting menus in a friendly and professional manner
  • Treat all guests with the utmost respect and care, striving to exceed their expectations
  • Run the floor plan board, observing tables and keeping track of clean, dirty, and occupied tables
  • Take guest information and quote wait times accurately when tables are not immediately available
  • Clean, organize, and stock menus at the host area
  • Answer phone calls and respond to questions about the menu and restaurant
  • Interact with guests as they arrive and depart, ensuring a positive dining experience
  • Maintain the cleanliness and smooth operation of the restaurant, including the bar and restrooms
  • Quickly clear and reset tables
  • Sweep the foyer and front entrance area frequently
  • Fulfill to-go orders, if applicable
  • Know when to escalate situations for management intervention
  • Complete other tasks and duties as assigned based on business needs

Requirements

  • Previous hotel or hospitality experience is strongly preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow directions in a multilingual environment
  • A passion for the mission, vision, and values of Sherman Associates
  • Schedule may vary due to the specific needs of the hotel
