The Virtual Patient Safety Attendant is a critical role that provides continuous observation and support to patients in a virtual environment. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse to ensure the safety and well-being of patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct visual observation and prompt verbal redirection to patients as needed
- Conduct ongoing safety checks and environmental checks to ensure patient comfort
- Record observations and safety care provided in accordance with hospital policies and procedures
- Serve as a liaison between patients and nurses, reporting concerns and escalating urgent needs as necessary
- Deliver virtual customer service and support to patients, families, and visitors
- High school diploma or equivalent required; certification or associate degree in a healthcare-related field preferred
- 6 months or more of experience working in a healthcare or related field using medical terminology
- Ability to work independently and manage own time and work tasks
- Proficient knowledge of typing, familiarity with organizational technology, and operational systems
- Cultural responsiveness and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
The Virtual Patient Safety Attendant will work in a general office environment and may be exposed to physical altercations and verbal abuse. The role requires the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and may involve car travel to off-site locations.
