Preschool Program Director

The Central Connecticut Coast YMCA is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Lead Teacher to join our Preschool team. As a Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for providing a safe and nurturing environment for children aged 3-5 years old, while also leading a team of educators to deliver high-quality early childhood education.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development and Implementation
- Develop and implement a comprehensive preschool program that aligns with the YMCA's mission and values.
- Design and deliver lesson plans that promote social, physical, spiritual, and mental growth in children.
- Leadership and Supervision
- Supervise and mentor a team of educators to ensure high-quality care and education for children.
- Provide guidance and support to staff to ensure they are meeting the needs of children and families.
- Communication and Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless delivery of programs and services.
- Child Safety and Well-being
- Ensure the physical and emotional safety of children at all times.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to prevent child abuse and neglect.
- Administrative Tasks
- Manage program budgets and resources to ensure efficient use of funds.
- Maintain accurate records and reports to meet regulatory requirements.
- Education and Experience
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in early childhood education, with a focus on leadership and program development.
- Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team of educators.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
