We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team at Spencer Creek Animal Hospital. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our veterinarians in delivering high-quality medical services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist veterinarians with patient care and treatment, including monitoring hospitalized pets and preparing patients for surgery.
• Perform routine in-house laboratory work, including taking and developing radiographs, and obtaining blood and stool samples.
• Maintain inventory, prepare prescriptions, and educate clients on veterinary care and procedures.
• Assist with surgical procedures and provide basic animal handling and restraint.
• Administer and monitor medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
Requirements:
• Previous veterinary experience preferred.
• Ability to work on weekends as required.
• Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
• Practice OSHA safety techniques, including proper PPE.
• Basic math skills and ability to calculate medication dosages.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS office applications.
