Veterinary Assistant

We're seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Nestle Operational Services Worldwide SA. As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of our animals, working closely with our veterinarians to provide top-notch care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with and perform essential tasks related to the health care of cats and dogs under a veterinarian's supervision.
- Review and administer prescriptions and treatments while observing animals during their treatment; monitor and report progress to veterinarians.
- Conduct daily rounds, reporting any sick or unusual behavior to the veterinarians.
- Provide pet care within the clinic, including handling, husbandry duties, and maintaining cleanliness.
- Prepare surgery supplies, ensuring surgical instruments are sterilized and patients are prepared for procedures.
- Acquire the skills to monitor a patient's heart rate, respiration, and temperature during and after minor anesthetic procedures.
- Maintain necessary records, including animal care and anesthetic/prophylactic care documentation, as well as filing/inputting laboratory results.
- Record animal medical/clinical data as specified in protocols and enter health information into the database.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1+ years of professional working with animal husbandry experience OR a bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Zoology, or a scientific field.
- 1+ years of experience working in a veterinary clinic environment.
- 1+ years of experience assisting with veterinary dental cleanings.
- Must be willing to work Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday from 6:30AM to 3:00PM.
- Must be willing to work overtime hours if needed.
