Company Overview:
GAI Consultants, Inc. is actively looking for a skilled Engineer 3 to spearhead our expanding Bridge Engineering Group within the Ohio Transportation Business Unit.

With a robust contract portfolio with various governmental entities, GAI is enhancing its presence in Ohio. This role not only involves providing technical and managerial oversight for bridge projects but also necessitates engaging with clients and formulating business development strategies for targeted project opportunities.

The ideal candidate will also engage with regional projects across neighboring states, ensuring a collaborative approach to engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities:


1. Design and develop plans, calculations, and specifications for various transportation structures, including highway bridges, retaining walls, and box culverts, adhering to AASHTO and ODOT standards.
2. Conduct analysis and load rating for existing structures, recommending enhancement and fortification strategies based on established specifications and design criteria.
3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage with clients to fulfill project requirements effectively.
4. Operate as part of a team or as a project manager, ensuring adherence to budgetary and scheduling constraints under moderate supervision.
5. Prepare engineering cost estimates, scope of work documents, and proposals, assisting other Project/Task Managers as needed.
6. Provide leadership and technical direction to the project team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality technical services.
7. Monitor compliance with quality control standards and client specifications.
8. Participate in site visits and occasional travel for client meetings, which may include overnight stays.


Qualifications:


Experience: Minimum of 8 years in engineering.
Education: B.S. or M.S. in Engineering.
Certification: Professional Engineer (P.E.) License with reciprocity in multiple states.


Technical Duties:


1. Assign tasks to both technical and non-technical personnel, predominantly overseeing detailed aspects of engineering work.
2. Develop scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
3. Assist in proposals aimed at securing professional services or funding for engineering projects.


Management Role:


1. Operate under supervision and guidance regarding overall objectives and critical issues.
2. Provide mentorship to junior engineers and direct reports.
3. Exhibit professional attitudes relevant to engineering practice, including creativity and dependability.


Communication Skills:


1. Demonstrate advanced oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interpret complex technical and contractual language.
2. Lead project meetings and represent the organization in communications related to engineering assignments.
