Job Title: Long-Term Substitute Teacher, Kindergarten

United Schools Network is seeking a dedicated and experienced Long-Term Substitute Teacher to join our team at United Preparatory Academy - East. As a substitute teacher, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our students and contribute to our mission of transforming lives and our communities through the power of education.

About the Role

The Long-Term Substitute Teacher will be responsible for leading a Kindergarten classroom during a parental leave of absence. You will work closely with the teacher to ensure a smooth transition and take over all classroom responsibilities. This is a full-time, temporary position that will run from October 28, 2024, through February 28, 2025.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a Kindergarten classroom and develop engaging lesson plans
  • Work with content and grade-level teams to develop and internalize rigorous, aligned curriculum
  • Establish and maintain a joyful classroom and grade-level culture
  • Communicate student progress consistently with families
  • Use data intelligently to drive improvement efforts
Requirements
  • Holds a B.A./B.S. degree and has the ability to secure the appropriate teaching license
  • Has prior experience working in urban schools and/or communities (preferred)
