Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care by assisting with the service of meals to patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide prompt, courteous, and efficient customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Food Preparation: Prepare and serve food according to correct portion, garnish, plate, and other specifications.
  • Work Area Maintenance: Set up and maintain all work areas and service areas with adequate supplies in an organized and sanitary manner.
  • Sanitation and Safety: Adhere to proper food handling methods, maintain a safe and sanitary environment, and report any safety hazards or needed repairs to supervisors.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate kitchen equipment, including coffee makers, pellet warmers, toasters, steam tables, can openers, plate warmers, and food delivery trucks.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff to ensure accurate menu selections and dietary needs.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Language: Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Schedule: Availability to work every weekend and five out of six holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Previous experience in nutrition or dietetics.
  • Skills: Excellent customer service skills.
