Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the highest quality of food and nutrition for our patients and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.
- Prepare and serve meals, snacks, and beverages in a timely and efficient manner.
- Set up and maintain all work areas and service areas with adequate supplies in an organized and sanitary manner.
- Operate kitchen equipment, including coffee makers, pellet warmers, toasters, steam tables, can openers, plate warmers, and food delivery trucks.
- Deliver and pick up meal trays and late trays, and stock station, mats trays, wraps silverware, and cleans/sanitizes food delivery cart.
- Participate in cleaning assignments, including sweeping, mopping, garbage removal, and completion of the daily checklist.
- Monitor pantries for general cleanliness and refer any issues to Supervisor/Managers.
- Stock the pantries on nursing units and deliver late trays as needed.
- Adhere to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Requirements
- High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Previous experience with or knowledge of nutrition/dietetics is preferred.
Working Conditions
This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and deadlines. The Dietary Aide must be able to lift, carry, and move equipment and supplies as needed. The position also requires standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
