At Hackensack Meridian Health, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our team. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient satisfaction and care by providing exceptional customer service and preparing and serving meals to patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by taking orders, preparing meals, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Prepare and serve meals to patients, visitors, and staff, adhering to strict food safety and handling procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the dining room, kitchen, and storage areas.
- Restock supplies, including plates, utensils, gloves, soap, paper towels, and beverages.
- Participate in dish room activities, including processing soiled and cleaned trays, dishes, and silverware.
- Utilize cleaning products safely and effectively, adhering to established procedures.
- Report any safety hazards or needed repairs to supervisors.
- Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and staff to ensure accurate menu selections and dietary needs.
- Operate kitchen equipment, including coffee makers, pellet warmers, toasters, steam tables, can openers, plate warmers, and food delivery trucks.
- Deliver and pick up meal trays and late trays, ensuring timely and efficient service.
- Stock pantries on nursing units and monitor pantries for cleanliness and organization.
- Participate in cleaning assignments, including sweeping, mopping, and garbage removal.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English required.
- Previous experience in food service or nutrition preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
