Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Unit Coordinator to join our team at the Jewish Community Center of Dallas. This is a seasonal, part-time position that requires a strong passion for working with children and a commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment.

About the Role

The Lead Unit Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a unit of up to 100 campers and staff, ensuring that all activities and programs align with the center's mission and values. This includes planning and executing unit activities, supervising counselors and senior counselors, and maintaining accurate records and reports.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute unit activities, including special events and field trips, in accordance with the center's mission and values.
  • Supervise and support counselors and senior counselors in their roles, providing guidance and feedback as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including attendance, incident reports, and impact stories.
  • Collaborate with other department heads and staff to ensure smooth unit operations and an integrated camp experience.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in education, child development, or a related field.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working in a summer camp or youth development setting, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Proven ability to plan and execute programs for children, ages 4-14, with a focus on safety, inclusivity, and engagement.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with experience supervising teams and managing complex schedules.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of $35,000-$45,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a range of benefits, including health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional development.
