About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Executive Officer/President to lead our organization, the Missouri Chamber of Commerce, in achieving its mission to protect and enhance the business climate of the state of Missouri.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the organization, ensuring alignment with the Chamber's mission and vision.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and bylaws to ensure the effective operation of the organization.
  • Lead the development of legislative positions and advocate for these positions through the Governmental Affairs Department.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with elected officials, executive branch officials, and other stakeholders.
  • Serve as the principal spokesperson for the organization, representing its interests and positions to the public, media, and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of non-dues supplemental revenue products and services, including issue briefings, political briefings, and other programs.
  • Collaborate with other chambers and business associations to further the Chamber's mission and strategic plan.
  • Direct the Governmental Affairs Department in generating funds to support the political activity of the Missouri Chamber PAC.
  • Responsible for the activity and fundraising of the Missouri Chamber Legal Foundation.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in a business or trade association setting.
  • Proven track record of success in leading organizations, developing and implementing strategic plans, and building strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively represent the organization to the public, media, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions and drive results.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
