Job Opportunity

RER Solutions, Inc. is seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Specialist. As a key member of our organization, you will provide onsite and remote federal program support, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply knowledge of FOIA rules and regulations to coordinate requests and responses with management and staff across federal agencies and offices.
  • Communicate and coordinate with members of the general public, legal entities, state/federal agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Identify and prioritize content types and formats to ensure consistent redaction.
  • Implement processes to track, manage, and report on FOIA requests and review status.
  • Assist with creating an electronic reading room for public-access to office FOIA documents and information.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of US Citizenship required to obtain client-issued Public Trust.
  • 1+ years of experience working directly with FOIA is required.
  • Experience and knowledge of FOIA rules and regulations is required.
  • Experience in receiving, reviewing, and analyzing new and backlogged FOIA requests is required.
  • Experience redacting records with proprietary data, trade secrets, and confidential information is required.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data and complex requests.
  • Ability to adapt procedures, tools, and resources to meet client needs with minimal oversight.
  • Experience with federal records management activities is preferred.
  • Experience with legal and regulatory compliance is preferred.
  • Experience with FOIAXpress is preferred.
  • Department of Energy (DOE) FOIA experience is preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and an understanding of fundamental business writing.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Products (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Education: Bachelor's Degree in business, government, or a related field is required.
