Clinical Dietitian II

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Dietitian II to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a key member of our multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will play a critical role in coordinating evidence-based medical nutrition therapy that is integrated and compatible with patient-focused medical goals.
Key Responsibilities- Assess nutritional needs using standardized practice and critical thinking, identifying nutrient requirements according to age, disease, and individual needs for assigned patients.
- Act as a resource person for the clinical team assigned, serving as a liaison between other medical specialties and ancillary services.
- Assist in achieving compliance with regulatory agency standards to continuously improve the safety and quality of care to the public and to the organization's performance improvement.
- Develop, implement, and monitor nutrition care plans, participating in the discharge planning process and providing education using established behavioral change techniques.
- Lead, direct, and manage the work assigned to others within the department, documenting all aspects of nutrition care in the medical record.
- Create/updates evidence-based protocols in area of clinical practice and trains others to ensure medical nutrition therapy practices are current and meet established guidelines.
- Identify needs for professional development and mentors others in area of clinical practice, participating in clinical research, on-the-job training, or QI projects as pertains to clinical practice area.
We are looking for a highly qualified individual with a Bachelor's degree in a related field and completion of a Coordinated Program in Dietetics or Dietetic Internship accredited by ACEND. The ideal candidate will be a Registered Dietitian (RD) with certification in area of clinical specialty and at least three years of experience as an RD with two years of experience in area of clinical specialty.
