Clinical Dietitian II

The Clinical Dietitian II plays a vital role in the multidisciplinary healthcare team, coordinating evidence-based medical nutrition therapy that aligns with patient-focused medical goals. This position requires a strong understanding of the Nutrition Care Process and the ability to apply it effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Assess nutritional needs using standardized practices and critical thinking, identifying nutrient requirements for assigned patients.
- Act as a resource person for the clinical team, serving as a liaison between medical specialties and ancillary services.
- Assist in achieving compliance with regulatory agency standards, participating in quality improvement initiatives and cross-training.
- Develop, implement, and monitor nutrition care plans, providing education using established behavioral change techniques.
- Lead, direct, and manage the work assigned to others within the department, documenting all aspects of nutrition care in the medical record.
- Bachelor's degree from a US regionally accredited university or college, with coursework accredited or approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
- Master's in a related dietitian field for new graduates becoming licensed after 1/1/2024.
- Completion of a Coordinated Program in Dietetics or Dietetic Internship accredited by ACEND, with a minimum of 900 hours (1200 hours for graduates of programs beginning 2012).
- Registered Dietitian (RD) certification by The Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR).
- Licensed as a Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) by the North Carolina Board of Dietetics and Nutrition.
- Certification in a clinical specialty, such as CDE, CNSC, CNSD, CSR, CSP, CSSD, CSGN, CLE, BCLE, etc.
This is a full-time position with a standard 40-hour workweek. The salary range is $37.29 per hour, with pay offers determined by experience and internal equity.
