Key Responsibilities and Qualifications

Role Summary:

The Surgical Technologist provides essential support to surgeons and registered nurses during surgical procedures in the operating room.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Collaborating with the surgical team to prepare patients for various surgical procedures across multiple specialties.
  2. Maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring the availability of necessary instruments and supplies.
  3. Assisting in the surgical field by performing tasks such as retracting, suctioning, and applying pressure as directed by the surgeon.
  4. Demonstrating knowledge of surgical techniques and maintaining competency in aseptic practices.
  5. Engaging in continuous learning to stay updated on new surgical procedures and technologies.
  6. Exhibiting initiative and teamwork by assisting colleagues in various surgical settings.
Qualifications:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required within the first month of employment.
  • Completion of a vocational training program in surgical technology.
  • Preferred experience of at least one year in a surgical setting.
