Job Summary
The Director will spearhead all initiatives related to the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) at Miami Dade College, providing transformative leadership in the formulation and comprehensive execution of a five-year strategy that aligns with the College's mission, vision, and strategic objectives. This pivotal role within the Office of Academic Affairs involves establishing an inclusive framework across the College, implementing a detailed workplan, and executing all facets of the QEP aimed at enhancing student learning and success, as delineated by institutional goals and accreditation standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Establishes the QEP framework and effectively communicates its goals and objectives to faculty, staff, and students to ensure successful implementation and outcomes.
- Engages various stakeholders, including faculty, students, and College leadership, in the dissemination, execution, and ongoing evaluation of QEP goals and activities.
- Collaborates with institutional effectiveness units to leverage data findings and analytics for aligning QEP goals with desired outcomes.
- Provides leadership in designing and implementing necessary procedures, pedagogies, curricula, and professional development to achieve QEP objectives.
- Maintains and updates the QEP website in collaboration with relevant College personnel.
- Works with the Center for Institutional and Organizational Learning (CIOL) to offer professional development opportunities related to QEP initiatives.
- Monitors accreditation standards to ensure compliance and accurate reporting.
- Develops and leads the QEP College-wide committee and its subcommittees.
- Acts as a liaison with external stakeholders to gather input for QEP development and execution.
- Coordinates the implementation of the QEP across all campuses, overseeing related training and presentations.
- Prepares comprehensive analyses of QEP progress and performance, including bi-monthly reports.
- Leads the QEP Assessment Plan, facilitating annual assessments of student learning outcomes.
- Ensures effective communication among all relevant parties to support the successful development and execution of the QEP.
- Maintains project records and coordinates the production of annual and final reports.
- Manages the QEP budget and personnel effectively.
- Participates in annual meetings as budget permits.
- Collaborates with College personnel to develop a marketing strategy that promotes the QEP's purpose and value.
- Provides updates to the Vice Provost of Academic Affairs and College leadership regarding QEP progress and goal attainment.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Master's degree with five (5) years of project management experience in higher education or a related field; or Bachelor's degree with nine (9) years of experience in an academic area related to project management, digital literacy, educational technology, or computer science.
- All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution.
- Comprehensive understanding of College organization, goals, policies, and procedures.
- Proven competence in implementing College-wide projects aligned with QEP standards and requirements.
- Expertise in operational planning, project management, and academic program management.
- Knowledge of educational research and assessment methodologies, including data analysis.
- Ability to develop and utilize statistical models for assessing student learning outcomes.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders in achieving objectives.
- Proficient in resource planning and management, including staffing and budgeting.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of fostering partnerships in support of the QEP.
- Knowledge of financial management within a large organization.
- In-depth understanding of technological innovations and their implications for higher education.
- Ability to thrive in a diverse, multi-ethnic, and multi-cultural environment.
Essential Position
- This position is designated as essential, meaning that during institutional emergencies, employees may be required to remain on-site or report to work to ensure the continuity of College operations.
