Job Summary

The Trauma Performance Improvement Registered Nurse plays a vital role in ensuring the highest quality care for trauma patients at Jackson Health System. This position assists the Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Program Manager in coordinating performance improvement reviews, data collection, and analysis to drive quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of a quality plan that is multidisciplinary and patient outcome-focused.
  • Enter performance improvement issues into the registry and ensure timely resolution.
  • Notify the Trauma Program Manager of unresolved performance improvement issues.
  • Monitor sentinel events, deaths, transfers, complications, hospital length of stay, and adherence to protocols.
  • Assist with preparing Trauma Quality Meetings and Trauma Registry meetings.
  • Participate in registry validation activities and report findings to the Lead Registrar and Trauma Program Manager.
  • Assist with the preparation for the Florida Trauma Site Survey.
Requirements
  • Valid Florida RN license.
  • 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
Skills and Competencies
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work accurately.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations.
  • Knowledge of job-specific technology and software applications.
