POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direct supervision of a senior administrator, this role encompasses a range of semi-skilled and unskilled tasks related to cleaning, building modifications, landscaping, maintenance, and repair duties.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Acts as a lead worker overseeing Service Worker I/II, part-time staff, and volunteers.

- Facilitates the setup and dismantling of events on a daily and weekly basis.

Engages in various semi-skilled and unskilled tasks including painting, carpentry, plastering, masonry, plumbing, metal work, electrical tasks, mechanical maintenance, and related activities.


- Conducts plumbing repairs, including faucet repairs and clearing clogged lines.

- Installs and replaces lighting fixtures, outlets, bulbs, fuses, and performs other electrical tasks.

Maintains and repairs locks, appliances, boilers, pneumatic controls, heating, and refrigeration systems; monitors gauges and adjusts controls on equipment.


- Paints and refurbishes walls, woodwork, furniture, and fixtures.

Utilizes welding, brazing, soldering, and cutting techniques with oxy-acetylene and electric welding equipment for repairs or new construction.


- Operates tools and equipment necessary for maintenance and repair tasks.

- Handles landscaping equipment including riding lawn mowers, weed eaters, leaf blowers, and edgers.

- Operates snow removal machinery such as trucks with plows, ATVs with plows, and snow blowers.

- Cleans and maintains restrooms, and manages waste disposal before, during, and after events.

- Assists in staging events, dismantling setups, and tractor driving for arena preparation during events.

- Performs related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:
Minimum of one year of experience in manual tasks related to building construction, maintenance, and repair.

Knowledge:
Familiarity with standard methods, practices, tools, and materials used in various building maintenance functions.

Skills:

Proficient in operating motorized vehicles and equipment, including dump trucks, pickup trucks, utility trucks, snow removal equipment, pumps, compressors, sanders, generators, and common hand and power tools.



Abilities:

Capable of performing manual labor for extended periods; able to follow both written and verbal instructions; capable of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues, other departments, and the public.


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record. Must be available on-call 24/7 and have a reliable means of communication. Flexibility in work hours is essential, including weekends and holidays; early mornings and late nights may be required. Service workers must be available for holiday and weekend checks. Passing a state exam for licensure may be necessary.

Due to the nature of this role, candidates may be required to undergo a pre-employment background check.
