Job Overview

The City of South Weber is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Landscape Maintenance Specialist. This role is seasonal and involves approximately 40 hours of work per week under the guidance of the Public Works Director or their representative.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute comprehensive turf management practices, including mowing, trimming, edging, aerating, fertilizing, herbicide application, overseeding, and sod installation using various tools and techniques.
  • Provide care for trees, shrubs, and flowers, including planting and appropriate pruning.
  • Assist in the upkeep and repair of equipment, vehicles, and tools.
  • Support the maintenance and cleaning of municipal buildings.
  • Install and repair irrigation systems.
  • Address graffiti removal and repair vandalized city property.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:Education & Experience:
  • Some high school education is required; a high school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Prior experience in landscape maintenance or a related field is advantageous.
Certifications:
  • A valid Utah Driver's License is mandatory.
  • First Aid and CPR Certification (ability to obtain).
Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to adhere to city policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of park maintenance principles and practices.
  • Capability to maintain accurate records and task lists.
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships with colleagues, volunteers, and the public.
  • Capacity to comprehend and follow verbal instructions.
