POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direct supervision of a managerial superior, this role involves a range of semi-skilled and unskilled tasks related to cleaning, building construction, alterations, landscaping, maintenance, and repair activities.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

(Duties may vary by position, and not all responsibilities may be included in this description.)

- Acts as a lead worker overseeing Service Worker I/II, part-time staff, and volunteers.

- Responsible for setting up and dismantling events on a daily and weekly basis.

- Engages in various semi-skilled and unskilled tasks including painting, carpentry, plastering, masonry, plumbing, metal work, electrical tasks, mechanical maintenance, and related activities.


- Conducts plumbing repairs, including fixing faucets and clearing clogged lines.

- Installs and replaces lighting fixtures, outlets, bulbs, fuses, and performs other electrical tasks.

- Maintains and repairs locks, appliances, boilers, pneumatic controls, heating, and refrigeration systems, while monitoring gauges and adjusting equipment controls.


- Responsible for painting and refurbishing walls, woodwork, furniture, and fixtures.

- Utilizes welding, brazing, soldering, and cutting techniques with oxy-acetylene and electric welding equipment for repairs or new constructions.


- Operates tools and equipment necessary for maintenance and repair tasks.

- Operates tractors, backhoes, skid steers, and other machinery.

LANDSCAPING EQUIPMENT OPERATION:
- Uses riding lawn mowers, weed eaters, leaf blowers, and edgers.

SNOW REMOVAL EQUIPMENT OPERATION:
- Operates trucks with plows, ATVs with plows, and snow blowers.

- Cleans and maintains restrooms, and manages waste disposal before, during, and after events.

- Responsible for staging events, dismantling setups, and preparing arenas, including driving tractors during events.

- Performs additional related tasks as required and/or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:
Minimum of one year of experience in manual skills related to building construction, maintenance, and repair work.

Knowledge:
Familiarity with standard methods, practices, tools, and materials used in various building maintenance functions.

Skills:

Proficient in operating motorized vehicles and equipment, including dump trucks, pickup trucks, utility trucks, snow removal equipment, pumps, compressors, sanders, generators, and common hand and power tools.


Abilities:

Capable of performing manual labor for extended periods; able to follow written and verbal instructions; skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues, other departments, and the public.


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Utah Driver's license with a clean driving record. Availability for on-call duties 24/7 is required, along with having a telephone. Flexibility to adapt to varying work hours, including weekends and holidays, is essential. Must be prepared for holiday and weekend checks. Passing a State exam for licensure may be necessary, if applicable.
