Job Overview

Library Systems & Services is looking for a Research Evidence Librarian to join our dedicated team supporting a significant Federal library. The selected candidate will collaborate with an Evidence Review team and various stakeholders to assist agency scientists and researchers in performing systematic reviews and synthesizing scientific evidence derived from scholarly articles and published research data. This role is crucial in ensuring that the research resources accessible through the agency's online platform adhere to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preliminary stages of the evidence review process.
  • Engage with agency stakeholders to define the research scope.
  • Collaborate closely with the evidence review team to formulate and refine protocols, including the development of frameworks and criteria for inclusion and exclusion.
  • Execute thorough literature searches across various databases.
  • Craft search strategies aligned with the established framework and criteria.

Qualifications:

Essential Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Library Science (MLS or MLIS).
  • 2-5 years of experience in supporting evidence reviews, particularly systematic and rapid reviews.
  • Proven proficiency with a variety of online databases in the fields of food, nutrition, food safety, agriculture, and health sciences.
  • Familiarity with review management software, such as Covidence or Distiller SR.
  • Experience with citation management tools, including Endnote or Zotero.
  • Background in supporting research within the domains of food, nutrition, food safety, and agriculture is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
